This item is an Arette 1A 35mm camera made by Apparatebau & kamerabau of Germany in 1957. (This is the later version with the bright-frame viewfinder). This good quality camera is fitted with an isconar f2.8/45 lens and a prontor-SVS shutter.

My first real camera.
What a joy to use after the 120 Box cameras.
I still have it somewhere and I’m shortly going to publish a photo to my site that was taken with this camera model in 1957. I know so because it was at a time when I dutifully recorded every shutter speed and aperture.
