Can you tell me how the light meter in this camera works- should the needle be in the centre?

The Prakti is programmed to provide automatic exposure on the four white-background settings, i.e. action, scenery, groups and portraits.
The built-in meter will set the lens aperture according to the lighting conditions and indicates the aperture in use on the yellow scale in the viewfinder. This is just for information - you can’t do anything to change it.
Hope this is some use. I don’t have an instruction book for the camera but I have some details of the programmed settings it uses for different subjects if of interest.
